Join Idealpeople on Facebook

November 22nd, 2007 · No Comments

A while back, we said (and we quote) “Facebook is the current “you must be on there” site. Often touted as a tool for recruiters and for getting spotted, and rumours have recently linked it to a partnerhsip with a online jobsite. To be honest, we don’t get it. You can’t search on anything other than name, all profiles are private until you’re connected….it’s actually of very little use to a recruiter from a candidate-sourcing or headhunting point-of-view.”

Despite what we said, we have today launched the Idealpeople Facebook page, and we want you to come and join us. We’re hoping to build a community over there of job-seekers, talent hunters and anyone else who’s interested in discussion, information and advice on their career or recruitment strategy.

In return for being our “fan”, you’ll get:

- Regular updates on the skills we’re looking for right now;
- Links to our huge banks of information and advice relating to technology recruitment and finding a job in IT;
- Offers of free CV consultancy/interview/job-seeking/recruitment strategy advice
- A chance for you to complain, criticise and praise (with the emphasis being on praise, of course ;o)

So come on over and check us out.

If you have an existing Facebook account, log in and search for Idealpeople. You can view our page by selecting “View Page”, or become a fan by selecting “become a fan”. Or you can click here to go straight the the page. If you don’t have a Facebook account, read our article on Social Networking Overload - and then sign up if you wish.

We will of course report back via our blog as to what our experience of Facebook for business use is like…
